1 Instrument synopsis

The ratio of the stress to strain below the proportional limit is called elastic modulus. It represents the material’s ability to resist deion, and is an important mechanical parameter to characterize the elastic properties of solid materials, which reflects the ability of solid material to resist deion.

The elastic modulus is one of the main basis to make the heat stress calculation,calculation of thermal protection and insulation layer and selection of mechanical components of materials. Accurate measurement of elastic modulus is of great significance for both theoretical research and Engineering Technology.At present, the test method of elastic modulus is static method and dynamic method. Static method or dynamic method is used in the our country, and the dynamic method is usually used  in foreign countries.

HEMT/DEMT Elastic Modulus Tester using the impulse excitation method and this is the non-destructive detection method. The natural vibration frequency, dimensions and mass of the specimen are used to calculate the dynamic Young’s modulus.

Use: this instrument using the dynamic nondestructive examination test method, can test the refractory’s elastic modulus, for example, high alumina brick, high chrome brick, magnesia brick, magnesia chrome brick, magnesia brick, silicon carbide products ,casting materials,ceramic material and graphite materials. The test condition can be room temperature and elevated temperature.

Standard:ASTM1548-2002 standard test method for dynamic young s modulus, shear modulus, and poisson s ratio of refractory materials by impulse excitation of vibration.

Test type:Young's modulus, Shear modulus and Poisson's ratio, can resolution of multiple peak frequencies(point at material’s macroscopic heterogeneity, crack, defect and so on)

Brief description: The instrument adopt the automatic percussion mechanism, the high temperature tester can automatic heating-up, heat preservation ,frequency acquisition and conversion. The software based on Windows XP system, data processing, mathematical model fitting intelligence,the calculation process can be seen and is automatic.The instrument has high measuring accuracy, any peak frequency and elastic modulus can be read. The defect of specimen structure can be seen from spectrum analysis. The equipment can be widely used in factories, scientific research institutes, product quality inspection departments to do the test of the material’s elastic modulus.

Performance description:
